Day 9 and Day 10

Day 9

This photo pretty much sums up our day. We basically chilled out round the pool, only moving to eat, drink or swim. In the evening we packed for our trip to Moshi and then had dinner. We both ordered tilapia fish this evening. The fish in Mwanza is so good and we will miss eating it when we are in Moshi.

Day 10

Today we woke up to torrential rain. We needed our cagoules just to get to breakfast and even then our trousers were soaked in the space of a few seconds. We had original planned to go with Robert this morning to a school where Tina and Faustine were training the teachers but the heavy rain had flooded the road so instead we called in at the ACTT office to say goodbye to the staff and then we visited a Catholic English Medium School where Actt had recently installed 2 large computer labs.  An English Medium School is a private school where parents pay school fees. They have far better facilities than the government schools and the children are all taught in English. I took a few photos just to show the differences compared to the government schools that we support.

This school was called Nyakahoja Primary School.

After we had finished at the school Robert dropped us at Mwanza airport for our flight to Moshi. The flight was on time but we did experience quite a bit of turbulence during our decent into Kilimanjaro. Robert’s friend Evodi met us at the airport and drove us to our B&B in Moshi which is run by an NGO called More Than A Drop. The NGO runs a hospitality school for underprivileged girls and as part of this they have a B&B and small restaurant where the students get practical experience in all areas of the hospitality industry. On arrival we were warmly welcomed, given a cold fruit juice and shown to our room. After unpacking we adjourned to the garden for a cold drink.

In the evening we had a lovely dinner prepared by the students. Before it got completely dark we got a good view of Kilimanjaro.
