Day 14

Today we had a bit of a lie in followed by a leisurely breakfast with a great view of Kilimanjaro. Pete says this photo below is his interpretation of Kilimajaro coffee.

I spent the morning sat in the garden catching up on the blog, emails etc.

About midday we started walking down to ACTT but it was SO hot that half way there we gave up and got a tuktuk. When we arrived Robert was busy so we sorted things out for our school visit and caught up with then staff. We had lunch at Mama Irene’s which was really nice and then mid afternoon we went out to Jamhuri Primary School.

We supported this school last year with 3 desktops and a printer and this year we have added a further 2 desktops which have been funded by Meadowbrook School in Bristol.

On arrival we were greeted by some of the teachers including the ICT teacher who we had not met before. We went to the Head Teacher’s office and went through the loan contract with them.

After that we took the 2 new computers to the Computer lab and set them up.

We were then joined by some children from Standard 7.

We also showed them a video about Meadowbrook School that I had made a few years ago,

We also handed over some pictures and letters from the children at Meadowbrook.

So after taking lots of photos we left, with an arrangement to return on Friday. On the way back to More Than a Drop we stopped at a new bar just across the road from the B&B. It actually had a nice garden, was pretty large and very cheap - 5 bottles of beer cost £2.50.

We then walked back to More Than a Drop and relaxed in the garden for the evening. Dinner was good and after eating we were joined by Gianluigi, the founder of More Than a Drop. It was a nice evening and we learnt more about him and the hospitality school.
